Home again, home again

We made it home today.  At this precise moment I think I have been up for about 30+ hours straight.  It is about 9pm in Portland and I just finished a beer and should be drifting off to sleepy time pretty soon though.  I even managed to keep Rowan up until about 8 o’clock.  Although she did crash pretty hard around 5pm and had a major meltdown when I woke her up, but she rallied and turned it around and then stayed up until her normal bedtime.  Maybe we can be back on our normal schedules by tomorrow?  Is that asking for too much?  I felt fine most of the day except when I was at work at about 2pm this afternoon and it looked like my computer screen was rocking in a boat… Yes, in case you are wondering, we took a train from Tokyo at around 12:30pm on Wednesday to the Tokyo airport for a 8 hour flight to Portland.  We arrived in Portland at 7:30am and Rowan went straight to school and I went straight to work.  Crazy?  Perhaps.

We had a great time on our trip and hopefully can make it an annual thing.  Rowan was fabulous despite having not played with ONE SINGLE CHILD in almost three weeks.  Guess who her playmates were?  Yup.  The adults.  It wasn’t so bad.  On our last full day we took her to Sanrio Puroland – or as we know it – HELLO KITTY LAND.  It was pretty awsome.  It was all so damn cute.  I mean really cute.  It was like being hit over the head with cuteness.  Oh, and it was VERY pink.  Rowan of course LOVED it.  She came home with a grip of kitty crap.  What did I buy in Japan you are wondering?  Ask me some day about my phone chatchky…
